Turkey lies within the geologically significant Tethyan Metallogenic belt which has resulted in the country hosting some of the world's largest gold, silver and copper projects. Turkey is split into three metallogenic provinces which are host to a to a variety of deposits including epithermal, porphyry, intrusion-related and VMS systems.
There is potential for new discoveries across the country. In the past Western Turkey has been better explored than other regions. In addition previous exploration has always been located around major infrastructure. The exploration to date has tended to focus on outcropping mineralisation, as a result there is plenty of opportunity to discover significant deposits under cover or at depth.
